Find Your Partner
Equipment list
Music (optional)
Notes
Explanation
All students have one note and walk, run or dance around each other, possibly to music. The students exchange notes with each other without looking at it. After a while, the teacher stops the music or shouts stop. The students must then find a partner as quickly as possible, the student with the note that matches their own. When the students have found their partner, they sit down on the ground. The couple who find each other last goes to the teacher to hand over their notes. They get two new blank slips to create new tasks. If this becomes too difficult, the teacher can give them new notes. Then continue the game afterwards.
Variation/progression
Can be used in languages with words
Can be used in mathematics where one note is a calculation and one is an answer
Other subjects with questions on half of the notes and answers on the other half
To vary the movement pattern, students can dance, run, jump, hop, etc.
Participants’ feedback on activity
The students work with repetition of academic material and topics that have been covered in the teaching. The activity is suitable for challenging students to think for themselves and try out new assignments based on a completed topic.
